Cafissimo capsules compatible?
You have probably already asked yourself whether the capsules on your Cafissimo are compatible with other machines of the same type? Unfortunately this is not the case, the capsules are not compatible. Every system has its own special capsules, including the Cafissimo.
General information about the Cafissimo machine
- The Cafisimo is one coffee machine for the use of single portions and is successfully represented by the coffee supplier Tchibo. This is the so-called Caffita capsule system.
- The capsules are made of plastic, have a thin lid printed with the company logo and contain approx. 7 to 8 g of coffee - in a fine, ground form.
- These capsules are placed in a special holder, which you then insert into the machine. As soon as you lock this, the capsules are punched by spikes from both above and below.
- The Cafissimo has to heat up again before each new cup of coffee that you want to drink. You have the choice between three variants, the simple coffee, the Cafe Créma and the espresso.
- With a pressure of 15 bar, the heated water is pushed through the coffee in the holder, so that a wonderful drink is created in your cup.
- The advantage of such a cafissimo is obvious: The aroma of the coffee is fully retained until it is used, as the capsules are sealed to prevent the aroma. In addition, you can only brew a specific cup of coffee and do not have to keep a large amount of coffee warm, which does not improve the taste.

Unfortunately the capsules are not compatible
- The only disadvantage of a Cafissimo and any other machine with a similar process is the fact that the capsules are not compatible with each other. Each machine has its own special capsule system, depending on the manufacturer. So you cannot equip a Cafissmo with capsules from another machine.
- However, there are now several manufacturers who have specialized in producing capsules for various coffee machines. So you are not forced to buy them from the original manufacturer, but can fall back on others who often offer them more cheaply.
- This also creates a larger selection of different flavors, you can now get many different varieties with different flavors.
Even if the capsules are not compatible with each other, the purchase of a Cafissmo is still worthwhile if you would like to have a good cup of coffee in between.
