How to paint Christmas pictures with angel motifs
Christmas angel images are most often depicted in two basic ways. Either they belong to the choir, which sings loudly with or without a songbook, or they float around some other event in the manner of a putto. No matter which type of representation you prefer, you can use the following instructions to paint contemplative pictures of angels for Christmas:
- Sketch the motifs of your angel pictures with a thin line and then color in the drawing with bright colors. You can create the outer contour line of the angel figures with decorative pens, which are available in different metal colors.
- Choose suitable, festive ones for the areas at Christmas Colours. Dark red tones are beautiful, but different variants of white tones and, last but not least, gold color are very harmonious.
- The depiction of the angels is based on the depiction of small children. So you have to take appropriate proportions to heart, as they are also decisive for the depiction of children, in angel pictures. The size of the head compared to the body is 1: 3.5 or 1:4.
- You paint putti either naked or in clothes made of cloth, which, however, do not fall undulating to the floor, but are rather sparsely measured. Often the arms and legs of the putti are exposed. Paint the extremities a little more rounded.
- You can paint the putti flying or floating on construction paper or cardboard, then cut them out and stick them to the pane with transparent glue.
- You paint angel pictures in robes with relatively large eyes, at least significantly larger than with adult figures. It is also convincing when some of the figures, for example singing angels, have devoutly closed eyes, which they can shape as arches with the curve downwards.
