Do you know where your bile is? The bile is a very important organ, even if it is usually overlooked. Where is she now - left or right?

The bile can be found in the upper abdomen.
The bile can be found in the upper abdomen.

The bile and its tasks

the bile is referred to by experts as "the bitter digestive juice".

  • Is it now left or right, the bitter digestive juice produced? In any case, this important organ is produced in the liver cells. The first task of the cells is to release bile, which is then found in very small tubules between the cells of the liver.
  • The bile can flow from there, through the liver bile ducts, into the main bile duct. From there it continues into the duodenum. The duct ends in the pancreas, also known as the pancreas.
  • Anatomically, the organs are well located so that they don't get in each other's way. The liver, for example, can be found in the right upper abdomen under the diaphragm. Is the bile also on the right or is it perhaps on the left?
  • With the biliary anatomy, however, it can be difficult if there are stones in the organ. These can clog the alimentary canal that flows into the intestines. The organ produced by the cells of the liver can become clogged and the juice from the pancreas can flow back. Mostly it then ignites. However, there are people in whom the two organs flow separately into the duodenum.
  • Where is the liver in humans?

The liver is the central metabolic organ in humans. It is in very many ...

  • If you eat fatty foods, the muscles on the walls of the digestive juice will contract. After that, the food goes to the duodenum.
  • A hormone - cholecystokinin - is formed in the small intestine when you eat fatty foods. The digestive fluid bubble contracts. The muscles can now relax.

The vegetative nervous system must not be forgotten because, for example, stress digestion can also be affected.

Left or right - that's where you'll find the organ

  • The gallbladder is of course on the right, not the left, of the liver. You can recognize it because the bile looks like a pear that is about four centimeters wide. The length is about six to ten centimeters. The organ is found on the lower side of the liver. The digestive fluid bubble protrudes at the level of the ninth rib, under the costal arch, on the right and not on the left.
  • If the organ is sick and there are stones in it (cholelithiasis), for example, it can be quite painful. The same applies to inflammation (cholecystitis).
  • If you look at the bladder wall of the digestive juice organ, you will find several layers and it is covered with a mucous membrane on the inside. There is also a layer of muscle there (double).

If you look at the outer area, you can tell from the organ connective tissue.
