- With a length of almost 3,000 kilometers, the Danube is the second longest river in Europe - only topped by the Volga with a good 3,500 kilometers. - The Danube flows as a border river between Bulgaria and Romania. Then it flows back into Romania and forms a border with Ukraine shortly before its confluence. It then flows into the Black Sea.
