In order for the potato dish to be a success, however, you have to pay attention to a few small details during preparation. In the context of fried potatoes, this applies to both pre-cooked and raw potatoes potatoes.

Crispy fried potatoes made from pre-cooked potatoes

Fried potatoes made from boiled potatoes are a delicious one garnish. With a little practice, you can quickly and easily conjure up a delicious dish from very simple ingredients. And this is how you are guaranteed to make the fried potatoes:

  1. Cook waxy potatoes in their skins. Let the potatoes cool and peel them.
  2. Cut the potatoes into slices.

  4. Place a pan with sunflower or rapeseed oil and heat the oil over a medium flame.
  5. Place the potato slices in the hot oil. Don't put too many potatoes in one pan. Otherwise, a large part of the ends will not be fried until crispy. If you cook for several people, it is better to use one or two more pans.
  6. The potatoes approx. turn carefully every five minutes.
  7. Once they have a brownish, crispy layer, they are done.
  8. Throw with salt and pepper: That's it!
  • You can vary the preparation by adding fresh parsley and dill. Red paprika powder is also highly recommended.
  • Onions are also ideal for crispy fried potatoes made from pre-cooked potatoes. It is important that the onions do not come into the pan at the same time as the potatoes. Otherwise, the onions are black and the potatoes are mushy. You can only add the finely chopped onions three to five minutes before the end.

Make fried potatoes from raw potatoes

This type of preparation is an original form of french fries. The ingredients are the same as for the pre-cooked potatoes and the preparation is also very simple:

  1. Peel the potatoes and cut in half lengthways. You can cut again very large potatoes in the middle.
  2. Cut the halves into thin lengthways slices, approx. three to five millimeters.
  3. Oil - it is also best to use sunflower or rapeseed oil here - heat in a pan over medium heat.
  4. Put the fried potato slices in the hot oil.
  5. Cook the potatoes over low heat and cover for approx. Fry for eight minutes, turning carefully. This will prevent your fried potatoes from getting crispy on the outside but remaining raw on the inside.
  6. Remove the lid and raise the temperature to medium.
  7. Often turn carefully - after all, the fried potatoes should stay in one piece - until they have a crispy crust.
  8. Throw with salt and pepper. If you wish, you can also add a little curry to the fried potatoes.
