This is how you recognize mammals

The word mammal or mammal actually defines what it is:

  • A mammal is a living thing that nurses its offspring. Of course, this only applies to the female species and never to the male representative of an animal.
  • Note that suckling means breastfeeding with breast milk. In this case, the offspring is attached to the teats or nipples and the baby begins to suckle on its own.
  • Also, keep in mind that mammals always bring their offspring alive. With living it is expressed that these are not brought into the world as an egg.

This is how birds behave

  • Birds give birth to their offspring in an egg shell. This egg shell then has to be incubated and after a certain time - depending on the bird species - the baby birds hatch.
  • Feeding pigeon rearing - this is how it works

If you want to feed your pigeon rearing properly, you should of course also feed the ...

  • The young birds are then fed by their parents by the adult birds looking for the food, chopping it up in their beak and then pushing it into the beak of the young birds. The young birds receive the food bite-sized.

Despite the same physical characteristics, there are differences

Apart from the above facts, mammals are also defined as follows, from which the list of identical physical characteristics arises:

  • Note that all vertebrates are called mammals. And birds also have a spine.
  • You can remember fur, hair or feathers by means of which the living being is relatively independent of its ambient temperature. Many mammals resemble each other in that they change their fur according to the seasons.
  • Note that there are a number of physical characteristics that make these creatures alike: Since most mammals live on land, they have a respiratory system. In contrast to humans, birds do not have a diaphragm and the lungs are fixed.
