Insert new fonts in Windows

  1. Save the previously received fonts in a folder. Make a note of the storage location, you will be asked for the exact path later when you insert the fonts.
  2. Go to the Windows Control Panel.
  3. Find the "Fonts" icon and left-click on it twice.
  4. A new window is opening up. All previously installed fonts are listed there.

  6. Click on the "File" tab. It appears under the mouse a new pull-down menu.
  7. Move the mouse slowly down on the pull-down menu to the function "Add new fonts ..." and click on it once.
  8. A new window will appear. There you will be asked for the path of the fonts to be installed, named under point 1.
  9. Enter the path using the Windows tree. The new fonts are now copied to the "C: \ windows \ fonts" directory.
  10. Alternatively, you can also immediately paste all of the new fonts into Windows by copying the new font files into the "C: \ windows \ fonts" directory using Explorer. This means that steps 1 - 8 are not required.

How to test new fonts in GIMP

  1. Call up the GIMP image editing program. You should get the free software If you haven't installed GIMP yet, you can GIMP download here.
  2. Open an image file as usual or create a new one. To do this, write a small sample text and open the font menu. Your newly installed fonts should now be there. The insertion of the fonts under Windows is activated immediately.
