iTunes and the iPhone

• Without iTunes the iPhone nothing at all. It is the basic software to use your iPhone with a Windows or Apple computer.

• You can also easily import pictures from the iPhone to the hard drive via Windows without iTunes. But this is a one-time exception when using what is probably the best-selling one Smartphones of the world. So if you haven't installed iTunes yet, now is the time to do it.

Connect the iPhone to upload pictures

1. First connect the iPhone to your computer using the supplied USB cable.
2. If iTunes does not start automatically, start it now with a mouse click.
3. Your iTunes may now even display the connected iPhone by name on the left-hand side.

4. Click the iPhone icon. You are now in a new window with several tabs at the top directly under the apple symbol.
5. Select the tab labeled "photos“. Now click on "Sync photos from". You can then select a preset folder or choose your own folder. With Windows this would normally be “My Pictures”.

6. However, if you do not want to transfer all of the images, compile your own folder with images and then select it.
7. Then press the "Synchronize" button at the bottom right of the picture.
8. The next time you connect your iPhone to iTunes, your computer will remember it by itself to synchronize with this picture folder and automatically all pictures in it on your iPhone transfer.

But be careful: If you have deleted pictures from the folder, they will also be deleted from your iPhone.
