You are not allowed to work all the time

Basically, no employee is allowed to work without any rest days. So it is not at all possible to work all the time and simply have the actual rest time paid off. Exceptions are executives who are not subject to compulsory insurance and company owners who are not employees. They often assume that they are simply indispensable, and in many cases that is true.

  • If you belong to the groups of employees already expressly mentioned in the law, you have to be prepared for the fact that you have to work 9 days at a time more often. This is particularly true in the area of ​​health care.
  • However, your employer must not completely cancel your entitlement to a few free Sundays per year.
  • According to the law, at least 15 free Sundays are desired on which an employee can relax.
  • Here, too, however, it is true that this does not apply to all industries and is reduced to 6 free Sundays for some.

An employee can work 9 days or more in a row. This always depends on the industry in which he works and what the collective bargaining parties have agreed in the collective agreement that applies to him. This constant stress is not pleasant, even if compensatory days are provided for it. But it cannot always be avoided.
