How to convert the RCD 300 to line-in

  1. Remove the bezel around the radio. It is secured with eight clip clips that can be easily levered out with a screwdriver. Start at the bottom to prevent unsightly scratches in the plastic.
  2. Then the four Torx screws must be loosened. Then you can take the RCD 300 radio out of the radio slot. Disconnect the connectors from the back of the radio and set it aside.
  3. Now the installation of the adapter begins. It is best to put the access in the glove compartment, there the cable of the jack plug can be hidden well. To do this, the small lamp in the glove compartment must be removed.

  5. After the lamp has been removed, an opening for the cables can be cut into the plastic with a small saw, or milled out with a drill. Then lead the jack cable and the earth cable through this opening.
  6. The earthing cable is best hidden under the rubber tray of the glove box towards the door and connected to the earth there. To do this, you first have to carefully pry out the glove compartment cover, which is also just inserted, with a screwdriver.
  7. The adapter itself is now in the radio slot, the jack cable is connected and is in the glove compartment. The earth is connected and the small lamp in the glove compartment is reinserted.
  8. Now reconnect the radio with all plugs. The adapter cable goes into the plug attachment of the radio. The best thing to do is to stow the adapter itself in the radio slot at the bottom right. Then insert the radio and test it for functionality.
  9. If everything works as desired according to these instructions, all you have to do is screw the radio back on and put the cover back on.
