It often happens while you sleep: your hair becomes tangled because you have tossed restlessly to and fro in bed. You wake up with knots in your hair. Most of the time, normal combing or brushing is of no use. Before you reach for scissors, however, you should try a trick instead of cutting off the affected strand immediately.

Knots in your hair - how to untie them

  5. Let go of every single hair that comes out of the knot when you comb the strand. Just focus on the hair that is still tangled.

  • If you get stuck with simply detangling, you can try using a little bold to make your hair more pliable. The hair becomes more slippery and many a knot loosens almost by itself.
  • Put a touch of hand or face cream on the spot where the knot sits and rub the fat lightly between your thumb and forefinger. You should swipe from top to bottom.
  • Now put the front teeth of the comb back on and try again.

Depending on how tightly knotted the hair is, the procedure can take a while. Please don't panic and stay calm. The more hectic you go, the less likely you are to succeed.
