Daytime running lights for Nissan Qashqai

If you drive a Nissan Qashqai built in 2011 or later, it has daytime running lights integrated as standard. In older vehicles, you have to switch on the lights when required or when the weather conditions suggest it. Alternatively, you can opt for retrofitting the daytime running lights.

The daytime running lights are not integrated as standard in the Nissan Qashqai until the 2011 series in Germany. The reason for this is that the standard integration of daytime running lights has only been mandatory since 2011. For this reason, older models did not have to meet this standard. If you have an older model, you can retrofit daytime running lights on your Nissan Qashqai and do this in different ways.

Integrate the daytime running lights into the radiator slots

  • As an inexpensive variant, you can install the daytime running lights in the radiator slots. It is important to ensure that the distance between the two lamps is at least 600 mm. This is stipulated in the road traffic regulations and is also taken into account by the manufacturer.
  • With this installation variant, the daytime running lights are more than 400 mm from the outer edge of your Nissan Qashqai. This means that you may not use them as marker lights when the low beam is switched on or when the parking lights are on.
  • Dimming is also not permitted. It is synonymous with the daytime running lights having to switch off automatically. You must take care of this during installation.

If you don't plan on buying a new car anytime soon, it makes sense to retrofit daytime running lights on the Nissan Qashqai. You will be seen better and your vehicle meets all the requirements of a modern car. This is also noticeable in the resale value.
