The final word in the thesis must meet special criteria. It is therefore not enough to simply look ahead to the future.
A specialist thesis deals in detail with a question and works on it from a scientific point of view. The final word in particular must be concise and unambiguous.
Formulate the final word correctly
- It is not sufficient to refer solely to future developments in the area of your specialist thesis in the closing words of your thesis. In the closing words you have to summarize the aspects of your work again and come to a clear assessment.
- The final word is the only section in a scientific paper in which you are allowed to incorporate personal evaluations.
- Summarize the course of the work in broad terms. Then weigh up the solutions to your topic or the problems that are discussed within your topic.
- Make it clear why you are taking this or each position. Your point of view in the final word must be logically understandable. Writing down mere opinions is insufficient for a specialist work.

- Assign your evaluations to clear facts, arguments or aspects of the topic. Underline the assignment in your closing words by inserting paragraphs.
