• In this case, the student can either register as jobseeker or unemployed.

How to register as unemployed

Before you register as unemployed, you should register as a jobseeker at the employment office responsible for you. Job-seeking means that you are looking for a job but have not yet registered for financial support with the employment agency. You can start looking for work as early as three months before the actual

unemployment Report. So that you can register as unemployed after de-registering and receive financial support, you should proceed as follows:

• To be eligible for unemployment benefit, you must have the Qualifying period have met. This means that you must have been employed for at least twelve months in the past two years.
• In exceptional cases, a shorter qualifying period (less than 12 months in a job subject to social insurance) is accepted.
