Blind booking with hotel
For those who like it exciting and are flexible about the destination of their short vacation, the so-called "blind booking" is exactly the right thing. You can reserve the hotel immediately after booking the flight.
At the moment, Germanwings in particular is offering cheap blind booking. You can choose from various themed packages and travel to a large number of cities. The actual choice of your travel destination is still completely surprising.
How to book the hotel for blind booking
Don't worry - you won't find out where your journey is going to be at the airport, but immediately after booking. In this way, you can relax and search for and reserve a hotel afterwards.
- Go to the Blind booking website from Germanwings and choose your departure airport and the one that suits you best from the various themed packages. If you hover over the picture, you can see which cities you may be traveling to with this offer.
- In the following window you can exclude certain destinations for a surcharge of five euros. For example, if nothing pulls you to Dublin, you can indicate it here. Also enter your desired travel period and how many adults and children are traveling together.
- At the top right you can see your total amount. This already includes taxes and fees. For possible baggage as well as with certain payment methods, e.g. by credit card, you have to expect a surcharge.
- Click on “next” and enter the baggage you want to check in (except hand baggage). Reserve seats if desired.
- In the next step, enter your personal data and your preferred payment method. At the end of the process you will receive information about where the journey is going. So you can be sure of the destination of your vacation within a few minutes.
- Booking a hotel through an airline is usually expensive and not always good. If you don't want to look for the best deal online yourself, you can go to a travel agency of your choice and book a cheap hotel in the city you are going to travel to. If you want to go on a hike, it is a good idea to identify stages at which you would like to stay overnight. Book these in advance as well.
If you don't want to be at home on New Year's Eve, but don't have a lot of money either ...
