Designing bottle labels is the beginning

First, an idea begins to spread in your head and then the question arises, how does it get onto paper?

  1. In a graphics program (e.g. B. GIMP 2 as freeware) you design the bottle labels on your PC and make your designs come true yourself.
  2. You can copy suitable fruit motifs from the Internet. You enter on the website (e.g. B. Google) enter the search term and display images on this topic.
  3. When you have made your decision, click on the motif and open the full-screen display.
  4. Now you can save the design on your PC. Please make sure that this process is free of charge. However, if you want to sell juices or wine with bottle labels that you make yourself, you must respect the copyright for these motifs.
  5. Print wine bottle labels yourself - this is how it works

A nice bottle of wine can be given away for special occasions. If …

  6. Now you can design the various levels with images, text areas and other decorative elements and then put everything together like a photo collage, cropping, fading in and out until you get the result convinced.
  7. When using label templates, please note the relationship between length and width.
  8. Finally, bring the bottle labels to the intended final dimensions and save them as a JPG file (TIF, GIF or BMP is also possible). Everything is reduced to one level.

The bottle labels that you would like to make yourself are available in the computer. Now you have to print it out.

Print bottle labels on label sheets

Unfortunately, when it comes to word processing, label printing is more likely to be used for address labels. So another way has to be chosen.

  1. Each pack of label sheets contains a sample sheet with all dimensions. You can set up your page accordingly for the OpenOffice text document. However, you must be aware that you may leave the print area at the bottom of the page.
  2. You have already formatted your bottle labels to make yourself exactly to the required final format, e.g. B. with AVERY Zweckform 3475 this is 70 mm wide and 36 mm high.
  3. Now you will paste your label image on the page. Then copy this as many times as you need the bottle labels. Make sure that the cursor is outside the graphic and that it no longer has any “grip elements”. Otherwise you would copy picture in picture.
  4. With a draft print (File / Print option: Properties) as an economy variant for ink cartridges, you can check the exact position of the bottle labels on the page to match the label sheet.

The printed bottle labels, which you make yourself, can be easily peeled off the sheet and stuck on.

Create cheap bottle labels

Making bottle labels yourself and printing out a small number of them is very easy.

  1. You insert your graphic for the bottle labels on a text document and check the size of the image in OpenOffice under Format / Image.
  2. Use copy and paste to place your planned number of bottle labels on the page.
  3. After printing, cut them to size with scissors or a cutting device.
  4. Now you take a glue stick, paint in the labels and stick them on your bottles. It's amazing how well the paper sticks to glass with this glue. Another advantage is that these can be easily changed later.

Once all the bottles have been labeled, your gaze is sure to wander proudly over the professional look.

Prepare hand drawn bottle labels for printing

If there is a desire to incorporate one's personal “handwriting” when making the bottle labels yourself, this can be easily achieved.

  1. First, draw and label the picture for your bottle labels according to your ideas.
  2. Then scan this label idea and save it as an image file.
  3. Now, as mentioned above, insert this graphic into the text document and prepare the page for printing.

Making bottle labels yourself is more than just a guide. Everyone can play with their creativity here.
