Improve UMTS connection on cell phones

Almost all current smartphones offer the option of wireless internet access via the mobile phone network using UMTS. However, depending on the location, such a connection can become quite unstable. This is how you ensure a stable connection.

The reception is better on masts.

Stabilize and improve UMTS connection speed

  • The data connection via UMTS means first of all that data such as e.g. B. Internet requests can be transmitted. The stability of this data connection is therefore directly linked to network reception. The reception indicator on your mobile phone therefore offers a rough first impression of how stable your data connection is at the moment. The better reception you have, the better the UMTS connection.
  • You have optimal reception when there are no objects between you and the nearest cell phone mast and it is best to stand directly next to this mast. However, since this constellation will rarely be found, just try to have as few tall objects as possible, such as tall houses or tall trees, around you for a good connection.
  • In addition, reception often drops rapidly indoors, as the walls of most buildings attenuate cell phone radiation very strongly. Here you can still achieve the best results for a stable and fast UMTS connection right at the window.
  • If you move quickly, such as B. in the car or train, you have to expect regular disconnections. This always happens when you use your cell phone to move out of one cell and into the next cell. Usually this transition takes place without interruption, but if the speed is too high, the cell phone is not more able to establish the connection to the new node fast enough to keep the UMTS connection open.
