VIDEO: Change Facebook Chat Bar

the FacebookChat-Bar is designed so that you can quickly and easily get in touch with the friends you communicate with most often. A green point indicates whether the respective chat partner is available or not. If the chat partner is currently unavailable, the messages are available for him to read later.

Change the setting options of the Facebook chat bar

• The first thing you should see is the Facebook chat bar. If it doesn't, click "Chat" in the lower right corner of the Facebook page to redisplay the chat bar.
• To change general settings in the chat, click on the wheel symbol at the bottom of the chat bar. Here you can set your availability, activate or deactivate chat tones and set whether you are available for chat or not.
• To make one of the changes, click on the corresponding entry to adjust and change the desired settings there.
• If you want to change the settings in a certain chat, open the corresponding chat window and click on the wheel symbol directly in it. You can use this to integrate other friends into this chat, to display the entire conversation or to clear the previous history. As with the general change settings, select the option you want to change by clicking on it and then adjust the settings.

Adding more friends to the chat list

In the chat bar all those friends shows with which you communicate most often and with which you last had contact via Facebook. The bar is updated dynamically.

1. If you would like to add a friend who is not listed in the chat bar, simply enter their name in the search field at the bottom of the bar.
2. The friend is now displayed in a kind of pop-up window. Click on its displayed profile.
3. After clicking on the friend, the chat window appears to the left of the chat bar and you can now communicate with this friend via chat.
