  6. Salt the mixture for the homemade gnocchi a little and add enough flour until the dough no longer sticks to the fingers. It is possible that you either need a little more or a little less flour than stated in the list of ingredients. That depends solely on the type of potato used.
  7. Flour your work surface and work the potato batter for the gnocchi into finger-thick rolls. Then cut these with the kitchen knife into approx. 2 cm long pieces.
  8. For the characteristic shape of the gnocchi, roll each piece of dough with your thumb over the prongs of a conventional fork.
  9. Put on a large saucepan with plenty of water. Salt the water and reduce the temperature as soon as it starts to boil.
  10. Put the homemade gnocchi in the hot water and leave them for approx. Brew for three to four minutes. As soon as they are done, the gnocchi float to the surface of the water. Then you can lift them out with a slotted spoon.
  11. Put the gnocchi in a bowl or something similar, add a few flakes of butter and serve as warm garnish or with any Sauces.
