Little Red Riding Hood is probably one of the most famous fairy tales of all. In the USA, however, this fairy tale is partially banned. In some schools the book is not even distributed.
Little Red Riding Hood briefly characterized
- Every child knows the fairy tale Little Red Riding Hood. But hardly anyone knows where the fairy tale comes from. As early as 1697, Charles Perrault laid the story "The little girl with the red cap" in writing. It was not until 1812 that the Grimm brothers brought the story to the public. From then on everyone believed that the two brothers wrote this fairy tale. Several writers used the fairy tale and published it under their own Names.
- The story is about a little girl who goes alone in the forest to visit her grandmother with wine and cake. On the way there, it meets the wolf and gets involved in a conversation. When it finally arrives at the grandmother's, she is initially surprised at the appearance of grandma, who was eaten by the wolf. Little Red Riding Hood is also eaten and later freed by a hunter.
- The common one interpretation is that young girls should beware of men who attempt to rape them. The red cap stands as a symbol for menstruation. But that is not the reason why the fairy tale is banned in the USA.
In the USA, the fairy tale is spurned
- In some parts of the USA the fairy tale "Little Red Riding Hood" is banned or outlawed. The interpretation is not to blame for this ostracism. It is the contents of the basket that the girl is carrying with her.
- At some American schools, educators see a danger in alcohol that a child is carrying. For this reason, some teachers forbid the fairy tale at school. If you take a closer look at this ban, outsiders just shake their head. In the United States, children are allowed to play with guns, but they are not allowed to read a book that contains a single bottle of wine. America is and will remain a paradox.
