Construction variants for the pool 

• There are various options available to you when building a pool. Retailers have ready-made bowls made of polyester or steel. You have to dig a pit for the pool and concrete a base plate on which the pool is placed. This causes high transport costs and the form is given without you being able to realize your own ideas.
• Concrete is suitable for the entire pool if you build it yourself. The work of shuttering before concreting is relatively long and complex. But the durability of the pool is very long.
• Another possibility is offered by stones that are bricked up. ISO bricks are easy to set like Lego bricks and are filled with concrete and plastered. The light stones are quite expensive and permanent tightness cannot be guaranteed.

• Finally, there are scarf stones, which are also filled with concrete. They are heavy and need to be bricked, but they are very stable. With all variants, a 3m pool in diameter can easily be designed.

The base plate for a 3m pool in diameter 

1. In all cases a floor slab has to be concreted. First you dig a pit that is half a meter larger at the edges than the planned base plate for the pool with a 3m diameter. Take into account that the pool should protrude 50 cm from the ground so that later no water can flow into the pool from the garden.

2. A drainage layer of 25 cm should be planned under the floor slab. The base plate should not be less than 20 cm. For a pool that is 1.50 meters deep, a pit about 1.50 meters has to be excavated. You create a drainage layer from gravel and level it. A level is the best way to check whether there are any bumps.
3. Now the circle for the pool can be switched on. The bottom plate should be 10 cm more in diameter than the pool. Almost two cubic meters of concrete are poured into the formwork and smoothed. For better stability, you can put two steel mats in the mold beforehand, which are also embedded in concrete.

The stone or concrete pool

1. Stones can now be placed on the hard and dried base plate. ISO stones are glued and scarf stones are bricked with mortar. But the work is the same. For a pool with a diameter of 3 m and a height of 1.5 m, around 60 ISO stones are required.
2. There are stones of different thicknesses and lengths available on scarf stones, so the number can only be calculated after the selection. Finally, all stones are to be poured with concrete. The amount results from the thickness of the respective stones. You can get help at the hardware store.
3. The wall made of ISO bricks still has to be plastered with mortar. Count on almost 15 square meters for the plaster. If you want to build the whole pool out of concrete, the walls have to be shuttered on both sides and steel bars have to be inserted. Plan a concrete wall of 20 cm. This will require 3 cubic meters of concrete.

• The finish is the coating in the pool. In the hardware store you can get suitable foils for the swimming pool lining. These foils are simply glued and sealed. The foils in the pool can be cut into the right shape with a sharp knife. Such films are durable and very easy to lay out. A permanently stable color makes the pool appear permanently beautiful.
• Laying out round basins with a diameter of 3m will not be a problem either. Also cover the upper edge of the pool by the pool so that there is a consistently beautiful surface.
